ITS BEEN A YEAR GUYS!!! Quickly before starting – I am so thankful to ALL of you and my team (Anesu Eline, Abeer & Areej Abutalib) for helping me sustain this for so long!

❤ 😀

I need to calm down…I am coming to you guys with this FABULOUS look! Well at least I think so loool. This beautiful dress is from BOOHOO.COM originally but I thrifted it! 🙂  Here, I styled it with a black chocker studded golden beads which nicely compliment the colour of the dress. To finish this look – I slipped on my transparent heels and probably my most favourite coat from my wardrope. This entire outfit for me is suttle, elegant, slightly mysterious and classy. I love it! Its the perfect look to start off the NEW YEARR!

Let me not start on the scenery these pictures were taken.  Its the most beautiful place I have been to in London (Hampstead Heath Hill Garden).

❤ 😛

Goodbye 2017

So for me, 2017 was a blessed year! Probably one of the best years of my life so far – too many things happened and I feel like i grew so much. I reflected upon some of those things in my birthday blog post (CHAPTER 21). In summary, I feel like i blossomed in so many different ways. I became more independent and experienced new things. I am SO grateful to God, Family, Friends and all my Supporters. I have so much love for all of you 😛

Welcome 2018

New year and a better me

So as we enter the new year, we are all turning a page over and continuing our journeys in a different time. My little sister said what is quoted above to me last night. It made me think about the commonly used phrase, “New year, new me.” Whenever its the new year, everyone is saying it! I have probably said it once or twice or a couple times loool but now I think about it, I don’t really believe in it.  We cant grow if we don’t appreciate the experiences we had. What we do or go through whether good or bad are the building blocks to our fierce character. In entering the new year, we must not erase what happened in the last year but instead we must rejoice in the blessings we were given, the joys and even the challenging times. Only then can we truly grow.

‘A new year and a better me! So do you agree?’

In becoming a better you, ask yourself:  What can I do better and how am I going to grow into the best version of me?

That is when new year’s resolutions come in 🙂 WEHEYYY!!! Take time to think this January – WHERE do you want to be this time next year. Consider the different aspects of your life that you would like to improve or work on e.g. your character, career, relationships, religion!

I thought it would be good for me to share some of my resolutions:

i) To GRADUATE!!! OMGG This my biggest goal/priority right now hence why I haven’t been as consistent in posting as I was before! Final year GUYSSS 🙂 The next few months are going to be busy but by God’s grace i will be good 😀

ii) To better manage my time (No more African timing!).

iii) Sooo this one is sightly embarrassing loool, I don’t know how to say it! I am small small messy so in 2018, i am going to make an effort to be more organised.

iv) TO stay focused, keep blogging and try my best to inspire as many people as I can.

May we all blossom and prosper!

Heyyy Guys, so i know this post is a bit late 😀 ❤ -but you lot know the uniii life how it goes.

I just thought i would come to you guys with a bit of CAMO!!!! I had been looking for an AFFORDABLE CAMOOO jacket for the longest timeee!!!  And then I came across this one in PRIMARK…I was like THANK YOU GOD!!!! A camo jacket is one of those essentials you need in your wardrobe for both a casual look and a going out look… And i have been looking for a winter one too, with fur inside. Let me know if you lot have seen any and where lol

I decided to style it here with one of my favorite jumpsuits I got from Select. Its always my ‘go-to’ whenever I am about to go out or when I am going for a dinner. Its cute and will make you look like you made an effort. Kindaaa wish I took one picture with just the body suit and no jacket – but anyway – it has an open back and quite a low V on the front. HOWEVER, Its one of them ones which don’t leave you exposed.

😛 ❤ 😛

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”  Nelson Mandela

So i have been lying in bed thinking about how to best address this particular issue of the month BUT AGAIN i am not too sure. I am just going to YOLO it and hopefully you guys get something from it 😀 🙂

Resilience is generally defined as the ability to overcome obstacles or difficulties. In other words your ability to bounce back when you are slipping (if that makes sense lool) or maybe the ability to regain balance when you are wobbling (makes more sense lool 🙂 ). It has so many different aspects to it – all contributing towards our strength and will power to keep moving even when we think we cant. What i mainly wanted to focus on for this particular post is the ‘attitude to lifeee’ aspect ❤ 😀 🙂

I think that this is probably the most important. Your attitude to life determines the way you perceive the world, who you are and your approach/response to challenges! To have a more resilient attitude, i believe you have to:

You have to always be HUNTING for the BEST for YOURSELF. Positivity feeds into your hope, motivation/drive, and strength thereby empowering you. Perhaps more than you actually realise. If you are negative, you are less likely to approach challenges and give them your best shot as chances are you believe it wont get better so  sod it.

The most successful people are courageous and open minded. They are not afraid to experience new things and neither are they afraid to fail. If you are the type who if not afraid to try new things and who adopts new/different ways you are much more likely to build personal strength. You will be more likely to not be afraid of change which often comes with life’s challenges.

Finally, this is probably one of the most challenging aspects of our attitude which affects our resilience.  Not taking feedback can leaves us more vulnerable than we realise. Sometimes we don’t realise that when those who care about us tell us something its not in an intend to hurt or criticise BUT RATHER to make us the best we can be! Being able to receive feedback just as feedback allows growth and strengthens our abilities making us more able to rise even higher. Even if we trip over once or twice, that feedback  enables us to find your way to the top again!

❤ ❤ ❤

This is just based on what i think and there is so much more to resilience than i have addressed! Defo have a look online. Also i am starting to love watching the TED shows, you learn so much!

“Having courage does not mean that we are unafraid. Having courage and showing courage mean we face our fears. we are able to say ‘i have fallen but i will get'” – Maya Angelou

 Hello Guysss, how are we?

I am back with a bit of a fun post for you lot! Where do I begin with this oneee? lool. I am in love with tracksuits right now. Being back in unii, you have no idea how much easier they make my life. I would go as far as to say they are wardrobe essentials. Not saying they have to be Adidas, they just have to be a comfortable fit, and cute. I recommend man’s tracksuits especially from Primark, they are an excellent fit. Anyway back to this outfit – I love my tracksuits like I said – perfect for this weather where its a bit chilly. I thrifted this pair along with the denim jacket. In this outfit, they are paired with white shoes and a body suit.  You already know how much i love my white shoes. The top compliments the Adidas stripes really well and cleans the look up a bit more 😀 ❤ Let me know what you lot think 🙂 ❤ ❤

Topic of the month: The Grind to success!!!

Heyyy Guyssss

I hope you are all well!!!!

So guysss – A little confession for this ‘’topic of the month.’’ Till yesterday, I had prepared an issue of the month about “self-discipline and procrastination” BUT I have just had a change of heart. I think that title sounded slightly boring and a biit LIKE a telling off. Thats not what I want to be doing on here.

“Diligence is the mother of ALL good fortune” – Benjamin Disraeli

So by the ‘GRIND TO SUCCESS,’ I mean the journey/pathway to success! Often we know where we want to go and what we want to achieve. We then start thinking about what we need to do and how we are going to do it. HOWEVER, although we figure out the path we need to take – we don’t actually think about the attitude we need to HAVE/HOLD to get there. While you are reading this, you might be thinking, “JENNETH you are over thinking this!” BUT I am BIG believer that without a drive to achieve your aspirations, it’s much more difficult to achieve them.

Some of you may know I am in final year at university studying Psychology.  I have just started and it has been drilled into me the importance of having diligence, discipline, dedication and determination in everything you do – hopefully allowing development and PROGRESS. At first, it sounded so longgg OMG but now i get it.

My top tips based on the above are:

i) Stay focused and know where you want to be

ii) Set yourself short and long term goals

iii) KEEP GOING and REMEMBER that there are ALWAYS WAYS through difficulties/obstacles (See the bigger picture)!

iv) TAKE control over your actions and motivate yourself.

v) Don’t Procrastinate! Remember where you want to be.

I should probably say, this post was also inspired by Mannywallz’s music. Listening to his lyrics, you can hear his passion and drive for success. In fact, you feel it! And with the right attitude that will come across in what you do.

“Self-discipline is the bridge between dreams/goals and accomplishment”

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” – Abraham Lincoln

Guyssss…how are you all!?!! I hope everyone is well. I am bringing a sassy outfit your way my ladies and gents. I first saw this play-suit at my friend’s house – not THE exact one i am wearing here LOL. Anyway i went on a little Primark shopping trip with friends in which we found this little beaut. I forgot about it for a little while but suddenly now and over the summer period, it became my favv! Its comfortable, and loose fitting but not too much. Its great for Autumn when paired with thigh high boots and a black denim jacket especially when its a bit chilli. Loveee the head wrap and rings as well, they add a little character to the whole outfit ❤ ❤ ❤ Am i extra? loool

ISSUE OF THE MONTH: How To Let Go And Move Forward? 😉 🙂 ❤

“Accept What Was, Let Go Of What Was, Have Faith In What Will Be!”

One of the  biggest challenges many people face is letting go. This could be related to relationships, careers, lifestyles and so many other things . Sometimes we don’t have control of what happens to us and what changes in our lives. At times, someone else could have control or maybe the situation may be uncontrollable i.e. someone passing away. Either way no matter where control lies its still painful and difficult. Emotions drive how we feel and perhaps how long a certain situation or event stays within you.

Failing to let go sometimes can hold us back or leave us stationary on one point therefore possibly limiting growth, preventing progress and at times leaving us miserable. I believe that certain things happen in life or you meet certain people for a reason. You have a purpose in their life and so do they in yours. As hard as it is to believe when that purpose is fulfilled, they sometimes have to come out of your life to enable you to grow further. I had this friend once– she was a person i believe brought me some way or another out of my shell and when the friendship fell apart  – it  was upsetting. Still to this day i do miss her BUT i don’t feel like if we still had that friendship i would be the way  I am today. This applies to relationships too or potentials loool, although at the time i would have been like I WISHH this and that BUT NOW thinking about it nahhh bruvv.

4 Top Tips On Letting Go:

i) Accept how you feel and the situation first. Trying to forget/avoid/repress your feelings won’t help at all. Eventually they will just creep back up and you will be back to stage one. If you need to cry then cry.

ii) BLAME – Whether its you in the wrong or not. If you apologised and they didn’t accept it then thats for them to bypass. Sounds horrible but you can’t change it. You have to again accept it and overcome the guilt.

iii) If its you they have done wrong, then try and forgive. If you don’t want to accept thats its happened and how you feel.

iv) Have hope – things may not be the same but it doesn’t mean that they are going to be horrible/ go down hill either.

Chaiiiiii… I BEEN WAITING TIMEEEEE FOR THISSS!!!!! One of my favourite blog posts to date 😀 I know i probably say that everytime i publish a post butt rahhh. My team also loves this too, hopefully we aren’t being biased ❤ ❤ ❤ Or Maybe just a lil bit but ohhh well…

So summer is coming to an end here in England and we are entering fall/Autumn! This means it will be both warm and chilli, sometimes with the sun still shinning through. Our weather is legit 4 seasons a day. Anyway, enough about that!!!

RIGHT NOW, we are coming through with a pop of colour. I must say this little puffed up coat is my fav in my wordrobe. Believe it or not, it goes with so many things.  Whether you are dressing it up with some thigh high boots (for sauce uno) and all black clothing OR dressing down with some black/blue jeans/ leggings. You’ll still look cute!! It always makes me stand out, and a little colour is good for the soul! From far you can tell thats JENNETH standing right there…i just love this look so much. Just to point out – something like this dungaree is great for your back to school season. You can throw it on with any t-shit and some nice trainers and you will be good to go. Not much of an effort or stress.

ANYWAYSSS, this look itself is colourful, charismatic, vibrant AND chic. I have plenty of pictures for you to look at!!!

Issue Of The Month: Being Grateful x

“A grateful heart is a magnet of miracles”

This issue of the month comes following my 21st birthday last month!!!! There are so many things I am grateful for. At 21, I never imagined I would be where I am. INFACT, never did I ever imagine I would be who I am today. I am so grateful to GOD for all his blessings (ALL THE GLORY TO HIM!!!). I’m grateful to my FAMILY for always being there, supporting and loving me unconditionally. Finally, to all my FRIENDSSS and SUPPORTERS, thank you!! Without all of you, life would not be the same AND I would not be the same either.

I am grateful to have had the courage to start this blog, I feel more confident, better able to showcase my creativity. In fact, its almost unreal how much this has impacted me as a person. I feel as though this blog has given me a platform to develop my character, learn new things and inspire someone else.

Within the last year, I learnt to drive and got my first car – RORRIES (funny name with a funny story behind it). Also, I got my first paid job and started this blog amongst many other things. I moved from home to go on a placement year without my friends or family. Of course they visited and I went home frequently. At first, it seemed, the year was going to be difficult. Now being on the other side of that bridge, I am more mature, independent and better able to take care of myself. Although some my disagree! LOOOL thats okay ;). I feel more content with what I have, and will continue aspiring for more.

😀 😀 😀

— — —chapter 21 jennethonline– —

I often realise that many people including myself sometimes tend to overlook the positive things in their lives as they may be pre-occupied with what may not be going their way or may be going wrong. This bringing down their mood making them miserable. Learning to reflect and appreciate whats going right in your life is very important. It sometimes shines a light of hope through you making that darkness disappear.

These ARE a few questions you should consider asking yourself:

i) What are your 5 or more testimonies? i.e. my good health!

ii) What are you grateful for?

iii) Who are you grateful to?

Whilst doing this, it is important to remember that people’s blessings/testimonies are different. We are all on different pathways leading to different destinations in our lives, therefore, the way things happen for each of us is different.

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Hello everyone!

Ruva-Rashe = God’s flower ❤

I am back with a short summer blog post for y’all. I found myself taken by this little dress as soon as I saw it. Its CUTE, not too SHORT not too LONG. JUST PERFECT. I adore the flowers and colours, they aid to the ever so SUMMERY weather and POSITIVE vibes. Looking closely its just a small black dress with flowers which looks PENG. To finish the look, some RED, saucy heels and LIPSTICK. Need I say more 🙂

I have just had an amazing and yet also a bit of a sad day. I said goodbye my fellow placement student 😦 As it was her last day, we thought it would be a good idea to ask those a bit older than us for some general LIFE ADVICE LOOOOL! The majority of them SAID, ”HAVE FUN WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG!!!!” It just made me reflect upon myself. Generally, I’d describe myself as quite hard-working, and goal/career orientated. This sometimes can mean most of the time there is lot to do – uni work and sometimes I’m there chasing opportunities which is great! Its not a bad thing BUT sometimes it can leave little room for enjoying life’s best things.

The purpose of this blog post is to encourage you this summer to make the most of it. Work Hard AND Play Hard! Find out what you enjoy, try new things. You’ll never know if you don’t try! If you do know, cater some time for those things!!!  Your idea of fun could be meeting with friends, visiting sceneries, trying new food, going to festivals and going out! But be safe init 🙂

Even after summer, its also important to still allocate some time for doing something you enjoy.  Learning to allocate time appropriately is important both for your mental wellbeing and your performance.

Hiiii guyssss

Its just meeee again 😀 ❤ I have a little something for YALLL!!!!!! I have a basic but cute look coming your way. Some DENIM shorts (originally denim jeans), an AMSTERDAM printed t-shirt, THIGH HIGH BOOTS and a little  CHOKER to add a little taste to the outfit!

I wanted to tell you guys a story behind those denim shorts — It starts in the thrift store! Obvs looool they were already cut – wasn’t too sure about getting them at first but you can guess what i did. I got home that day and tried them on. My mom and sis LAUGHED AT MEEE!  loooooooool they could not stop. They thought i had lost it famm :/  Anywho, a few months later when we shot these pics, and my mom saw them she as likeee  – ”Ohh Ruu. I like your shorts! I WANT THEM!”

Anyhow i think they bang with those thigh high boots and a simple white tee 😉 Who agrees – comment and let me know! You can wear this on a casual night out. Its not too much but just enough.

— —IMG-20170703-WA0054— — —

So this issue of the month has been inspired by the amazing scenery we took these pictures at. A graffiti tunnel at Waterloo station in London. The art work there is beyond AMAZING! When you go there, you always see something new at least on one part of the tunnel. SOME HELLA TALENTED PEOPLE SHOWCASING THEIR GIFTS!!!!

I thought this would link in very well with last month’s issue of the month ( LINK:: ). A talent is a gift or an ability which we are born with and discover either very early in childhood or later somehow unexpectedly. This doesn’t always have to be about art or singing!  It could be your ability to juggle numbers, write, run or dance. I guess the point of this issue of the month is to  encourage you  to do something with your talent at every opportunity knocking at your door. DON’T WASTE IT!!!! Unless you don’t enjoy it then of course that is a different story. You should not make nerves or discouragement from others hinder you from showcasing your abilities. At the end of the day, some people will criticise but others will appreciate your talent. You I know you are probably THINNKING,  “Jenneth you are too optimistic.”

No. I am not saying quit your job to do it, I am saying that If there is something you are good at and enjoy – why not use it at every opportunity offered?

Our Deepest Fear – by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

“Find a PURPOSE in LIFE so BIG it will CHALLENGE every CAPACITY to be at your BEST” – Unknown Author

“Catch fire, Do something, Get excited by finding your purpose in life” – Steve Harvey

When you find your purpose, it is like your heart has been set alight with passion. You know it absolutely, without any doubt! – Rhonda Byrne

Sighhhh so this issue of the month comes after i have just completed my placement year for university (LASTTTT WEEK!!! YYEYYYYY). This means i am approximately a year away from entering the real world looool SO THEY SAYYYy! Graduation next year and there i will be. Out there. Many in my stream will be graduating July (CONGRATULATIONSS!!!) and there they go 🙂 ❤

I can’t lie. ITS SCARYYY. There are SO MANY QUESTIONS in my mind. Am I Making The Right Decision? What Is My Purpose? What Do I Want In Life? What Is God’s Wish For Me? Some of them i cant seem to be able to answer just yet…

When it comes to finding your purpose its something you should not rush AND sometimes we are going to get it wrong and have to take a step back (a bit like kissing a few frogs before you find your prince/princess :). At the same some people are born knowing, others ain’t and have to figure it out! … What you choose to do has to be something you feel passionate about which feels right deep within. Don’t be afraid to get it wrong. At our age we have our WHOLEEE LIVES to figure it out. Be open to explore as many avenues as you can. Find out whats out there and how you can get to it 😉 Use those around you to help you start climbing that ladder to your destination. Stay humble all the way!

— —

My 3 Top Tips To Finding Your Purpose:

i) Take a step back for a bit and try EVERYYYYTHING you are interested in! Find where exactly your PASSION lies. This may involve doing some work experiences/placements within those fields.

ii) Do some RESEARCHHHH AND  ASK QUESTIONS … OMG I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH !!!!! IF You don’t do your research you will never know what you are missing OR WORST OF ALL you MIGHT end up in the wrong place unnecessarily. Don’t ever think you are asking too many questions. You don’t ask, YOU DON’T FIND OUT.

BONJOURRR, We meet again!!! 😀

With everything I wear, my aim is to feel COMFORTABLE and GOOD! The main motive behind this outfit was to hopefully prove that you could still look good in comfortable clothing. You don’t have to wear a tight, and figure hugging dress every-time you go out you know (although sometimes it doesn’t hurt lool). Sometimes keep it comfy. Comfy can still look sophisticated and cute. You are probably like, “JENNETH what are you talking about?!” You just have to OWN IT. All that I am wearing here is a bodysuit with some jogger like tracksuit bottoms and a fur sleeveless coat. And of course the heels loool. READY TOO GO!!! Some people might not quite like the lines in my trousers but its all a part of it init.

ISSUE OF THE MONTH: Money & Happiness

This has really been my true issue of the month in-fact of this year so far. I have had so many conversations with a lot of people and it is interesting hearing their perspective on things. Just to put it out there, this is my perspective and i do understand if some of you don’t agree!

I believe that money is necessary in living a comfortable and PERHAPS happy life BUTTT BUTTT BUTTT it is not the key to happiness (at least i don’t think so!). Some people might point out that you need money for food, a bed to sleep on and clothes to wear. Of course again i do not disagree. I just feel like money has become something which is at times confused for bringing ever-lasting happiness. A friend of mine once said that, “money can buy happiness,” someone else said, “money = happiness!”

Someone once told me a story about the time she went to Ghana for a few weeks and came back feeling like the ghanians were the happiest people she had met! Those she spent time with whilst on holiday barely had much  in regards to money, and luxuries we have here (Europe) i.e. a smartphone and a mac-book. Yet, there were so happy and sang in so much joy. One could argue probably happier than most people who have enough money to live and get everything they desire.

I guess the purpose of this issue of the month is to encourage us to be careful of where we place money within our hierarchy of needs. We shouldn’t place it too high that it defines our happiness. Always remember money comes and goes – that happiness is temporary. You may be sad till your next pay check so I want to encourage you to BE MINDFUL and AWARE of all the OTHER THINGS which are perhaps more important AND highly likely to promise longer lasting happiness and satisfaction i.e. the LOVE from FAMILY and FRIENDS, RELIGION, and CULTURE. Let our happiness not be entirely reliant on our pay check.

Omggggg guyss the longg awaited THRIFTED Blog Post!! THRIFTING IS ALMOST LIKE A HOBBY TO ME!!! There is nothing I enjoy more than looking over extraordinary things to find one that suits me. You find the most amazing things in thrift shops which sometimes are of way better quality than what we tend to buy from mainstream stores. I have been thrifting properly since November last year after I came across this over-sized DENIMMM JACKETT in British Heart Foundation. I WAS IN LOVE!!! Ever since, my collection has grown like crazy from denim to silk all the way to BALMAIN Paris. In the near future I hope to post my thrifted word-rope on the inspiration page but for now here is a thrifted look. Denim mom jeans, top, leather jacket along with the hand bag too! The only ITEM not thrifted are the shoes.

SOOO YESTERDAYYY, i was sitting on my bed thinking, “i have to release that blog post tomorrow! what issue of the month should i do?” :// I thought maybe natural hair but then my inner voice was like “nahh BRUVV a…a think harder what is your POST really about? CHARITIES!!! What do Charities do? HELP OTHERS directly or indirectly. PERFECTTT.”

The art of helping occurs when YOU make something BETTER for someone else without expecting anything in return. In this way you are making their WORLD and LIFE a lot better or perhaps easier/happier. Helping doesn’t have to involve or cost money! You could help just by asking someone who looks distressed whether they are okay, making yourself available to listen, giving up a chair for someone disabled/pregnant, sharing the little you have, and sometimes just simple things such as smiling could go a long way. That light you shine upon others will light a touch of hope in their heart which they will hopefully pass on.

Almost two weeks ago, i attended this conference, it left me with many questions one being, “HOW DO I MAKE THE WORLD BECOME A BETTER PLACE FOR EVERYONE?” Although i could think of a few things, it got to me that i cant make everything better and i cant help everyone. This was QUITE a DISTRESSING thought. Few days later something clicked inside of me and that was, “if we all WORK TOGETHER and HELP those who are STRUGGLING or BENEATH us. The world will be a BETTER PLACE for everyone.”
