OMGGG this dress has been in my position for a whilee noww… since i picked it out for my mom’s graduation a long time ago (2014). Its a timeless classic which always makes me feel good when i am wearing it. It shows off the legs but does not reveal much more. One thing i absolutely admire about it is the level of detail in that lace. Just gorgeous! I had to share it with  all of you.

It is still accessible and also there are many similar to this piece in different online stores (boohoo.com and newlook.com)

ISSUE OF THE MONTH: Knowing yourself and working on it!

— —

“Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character. It becomes your destiny” Lao Tzu

“Learn to know yourself…to search realistically and regularly the process of your own mind and feelings” Nelson Mandela

For this issue of the month I have decided to recognise the importance of knowing and working on yourself. Believe it or not this links very well to last month’s issue of self-confidence. ONLY when we are self-aware will we develop ourselves to a better, happier MORE confident and successful person.

Knowing yourself requires carrying out a 360 degree SELF-ASSESSMENT.  From the way you perceive the world, think and behave to the way you present yourself. This process involves asking questions such as: who am i?, where am I from? What drives and motivates me? What sets me back/distracts me? What is my talent? What am I good at? What do I struggle with? What makes me happy? What puts my mood down? How do I present myself? What are my good and bad habits? So many questions which you need to ask yourself in order to have an idea of who you really are. Only when you know those answers will you recognise your capabilities, self-worth and ways in which you can approach challenges more successfully. Most importantly, knowing yourself will invite you to recognise how your mind works and perhaps motivate you to change your undesirable characteristics.

Lao Tzu’s quotation above is one of my many favourites as it summarises the stages in which one’s character develops and becomes destiny. Mandela also recognises the importance of regularly assessing yourself realistically which is another important factor.
